Are you using the Google Chrome Canary or Dev Channel on your Mac?
If you are, and you’re on compatible hardware, then I have a little surprise: Google quietly updated Chrome to a 64-bit build without you noticing!
‘Google quietly updated Chrome to a 64 bit build without you noticing!’
The switch has been a long time coming. Most recent versions of Apple’s desktop operating system no longer default to the 32 bit architecture, a move that has seen some third-party plugins for the platform, like Java 7, offered only in 64-bit versions.
https://treemind765.weebly.com/blog/download-vi-them-to-mac. Chromium developers have been working on bringing native 64 bit builds of Chrome to OS X for a while. In fact, if you use the Canary channel frequently you may have already used one, as developers often seeded builds for testing there on occasion.
Now it seems as though that testing is ready to go wider. As of Chrome version 38.0.2065.0 on OS X, 64-bit Chrome is a-go on the dev channel:
Benefits
What are the benefits of the switch? On paper: better performance and better multitasking. 64-bit builds allow Chrome to ‘address’ (read: use) more available memory on your system (assuming you have it) and perform more tasks concurrently, and faster.
Windows 64 bit Chrome builds have boosted performance by 25%, say Google, while also improving stability. Data on Mac performance has yet to filter out but it’s a promising indication nonetheless.
Getting Chrome 64 Bit Mac
On a 32-bit system? There’s no need to panic. Chromium developers have built a ‘fail safe’ into the server infrastructure that distributes updates to ensure that only compatible builds can install on compatible systems.
If you’re on a Mac I recommend rolling with the Canary channel. Netgear powerline utility mac download. This installs alongside an existing version of Chrome, allowing you to use stable builds alongside it.

Chromium is the open source web browser project from which Google Chrome draws its source code. Chromium is an open-source browser project that aims to build a safer, faster, and more stable way for all users to experience the web.
Chromium builds have the most infrastructure for analyzing crashes and reporting bugs. The project's hourly Chromium snapshots appear essentially similar to the latest builds of Google Chrome aside from the omission of certain Google additions, most noticeable among them: Google's brand, auto-update mechanism, click-through licensing terms, usage-tracking, and bundling of Adobe Flash Player.
The Chromium Project takes its name from the element chromium (Cr), the metal from which chrome is made. Google's intention, as expressed in the developer documentation, was that Chromium would be the name of open source project and that the final product name would be Chrome. However other developers have taken the Chromium code and released versions under the Chromium name.
Differences between Chromium and Google Chrome
Chromium is the name given to the open source project and the browser source code released and maintained by the Chromium Project. It is possible to install the latest precompiled snapshots for Windows, Linux and Mac, or by downloading the source code and building it manually on those platforms. Google takes this source code and adds an integrated Flash Player, the Google name and logo, an auto-updater system called GoogleUpdate, an opt-in option for users to send Google their usage statistics and crash reports as well as, in some instances, RLZ tracking which transmits information in encoded form to Google, for example, when and where Chrome has been downloaded. By default, Chromium only supports Vorbis, Theora and WebM codecs for the HTML5 audio and video tags, while Google Chrome supports these in addition to H.264, AAC, and MP3. Certain Linux distributions may add support for other codecs to their customized versions of Chromium.
